Anup is a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a degree in bioengineering on the cellular track. His current research experience includes working with chromophobe renal carcinoma to understand how cytoskeletal mechanisms impact metabolism and cancer growth. He has also researched how genotypic variations in Brassica rapa can influence the floral microbiome. Currently, he has been working on mapping the genome of a novel bacteriophage. Outside of the lab, Anup enjoys being involved on campus such as being a member of a hall council for the Resident Student Association and volunteering to help with move-in. His hobbies include playing the viola, cooking, and reading. His current goal is to go into medical school once he completes his undergraduate degree, he is also considering graduate school as a possible path.
