Cais is an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a B.S. in Biological Sciences, with minors in Chemistry and Economics and a Certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. They are passionate about disease diagnosis and aspire to become a medical pathologist, with plans to attend medical school and pursue a pathology residency.
Currently, Cais is involved in research related to mitochondrial dynamics and cell biology, exploring how organelle behavior is altered under differing conditions. They have also taken biology lab, where they research the effect of bacteria on amphibian microbiomes, contributing new insights to RIBBTR.
Outside of the lab, they are the vice president of Taekwondo club at Pitt. They are also involved with FRESA, a dance group, and wanting to get more involved with AMSA. Their hobbies include gaming, Taekwondo, dancing, cooking, and reading.
