Kaylee graduated from Penn State University with a BS in Biology and a minor in Spanish. Following school, Kaylee conducted research at the Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute, working on bioengineering/immunology projects involving hematopoietic stem cell expansion and transplantation to support a humanized mouse model. She then worked in a regenerative medicine lab at the University of Pittsburgh, conducting a wide array of projects involving peripheral and optic nerve regeneration studies and lead several industrial and academic collaborations.
During her PhD, Kaylee hopes to conduct patient-impacting research that amalgamates her wet lab immunology/regenerative medicine experiences with novel scientific approaches and discovery to bolster future cancer therapies and patient quality of life.
Outside of science, Kaylee enjoys traveling, exercise, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, cooking, reading, hiking, and relaxing with her cat.
